We are noticing that when a user runs the GR55 transaction wide open for our company code that it takes varying amounts of time for the same data. We were able to trace this to the amount of authorization checks that are occurring with this transaction. If GR55 is run with just our company code as a filter we see 8000+ authorization checks. Our end users are complaining because sometimes this will take 2 seconds to run and other times it will take 60 seconds for the same data.
My question is what buffer would this information sit in. I am guessing that after a few runs, the authorization checks are getting buffered in the system and is taking much less time. Any recommendations on if increasing our buffer size in this area would fix this? Also, we have 6 different application servers that may be used by the end users, is there some way we can ensure this authorization data stays buffered?
